On October 8 the first stage of own Data Center construction has been completed by DATA FORT; the Center is located in 8 Marta Street in Moscow. Its area is about 400 square meters, that is twice as much as the area of the Date Center currently leased by DATA FORT at the same address.

The need in new Data Center has appeared due to steady growth of the number of DATA FORT customers. Today the following companies are its clients: Rosgosstrakh, Marsh, OMZ, Sonic Duo (MegaFon), Microsoft, Ward Howell International and others. Also some large projects are in the stage of implementation.

According to DATA FORT Director Dmitry Komissarov, «we made a decision to invest in construction of a new Data Center because the market demand was quite evident. For two years since the date of launching DATA FORT project the market has changed significantly: customers not only learnt about the opportunity of using outsourcing model and realized the benefits for business offered by it, they became active consumers of these services. Two years ago we could only dream of the current customers flow. The major part of the new Data Center area has been already reserved by our customers!»

The new Data Center has both a technological sector for equipment placement, and a room for Disaster Recovery Offices establishment in the context of DATA FORT services on providing Business Continuity of its customers. This service assumes that in case of any problems with the main office caused by Acts of God, the key staff is moved to DATA FORT Disaster Recovery Office and starts working with the duplicate of information system located in Data Center.

New Data Center enables placing more than 1500 servers. The capacity of 2 data storages and backup systems of the Data Center is over 50 terabyte (a 14-digit number!).

Data Center is equipped with the most advanced systems:

• Fire suppression system with efficient gas and smoke removal
• Air conditioning system (failure of on conditioner doesn't break the system functioning)
• Uninterruptible power supply (1st category power supply system: Uninterruptible Power Supplies, backup diesel generator etc.)
• Intrusion protection
• Impermeability, and waterproofing
• Other tools providing continuous operation of the Data Center

It is planned to complete the construction in December, 2003.
