DATA FORT Offers Customers to Rate Maturity Level of IT Service Management.

February 21, 2006. DATA FORT, an IBS Outsorcing Center, has developed a new service — Rating of Maturity Level of IT Services. The first presentation of this service took place at the seminar for IT directors at IBS conference hall, on February 16.

The new methodology was developed by DATA FORT specialists, taking into account the experience of rendering IT services in Russia. Its core is represented by the DATA FORT's model of IT service rating, which is based on the process-oriented approach to IT management, presented in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

Rating of Maturity Level of IT Services allows the user to bring to light bottle necks at the enterprise IT management and generate actual recommendations on possible enhancements. The results gained can  either confirm the reliability of the chosen strategy or indicate the need to introduce specific changes in the direction of growth.

Within the framework of this methodology, the most widespread processes of IT service management are analyzed, such as Incident Management, Problem Management, etc. This service allows to determine both current and target maturity level, which is required for meeting business-set IT goal objectives.

Depending on the Customer's needs, both complete and express rating of Maturity Level is available:

  • Complete rating is performed with maximum of detail. Maturity level of individual processes and their interrelations are estimated. The work takes approximately 20 work days
  • The scope of express rating is restricted by the list of compulsory items. The work takes approximately 10 work days

In addition, DATA FORT consultants are currently developing recommendations for transition from actual to target maturity level.

In the nearest future, DATA FORT is planning to supplement new products to the portfolio of solutions on IT service management analysis, beginning with maintenance service processes affecting everyday activity of IT department on support of key IT systems operability, including operating systems management, network services, and databases. Maintenance processes form the basement of IT service management processes. High maturity of these processes can be achieved only in case of appropriate maturity level of basic operation processes.

DATA FORT is planning to continue its workshops, dedicated to implementation of IT service management, where a new procedure of rating maturity level of maintenance service will be presented.
