In May 2004, IBS concluded the contract on integrated support of IT systems of the ROSNO insurance company. This is the largest Russian IT outsourcing project, and ROSNO is the first Russian insurance company to almost completely outsource its IT to a specialized company. According to the contract, IBS supports over 2000 working places in two major offices and 25 agencies of the Company in Moscow and Moscow region. These operations are performed by the DATA FORT outsourcing center, the IBS division that renders the corporate IT outsourcing services.
Over 7 mln. people and 50 th. companies and organizations are the holders of the ROSNO insurance policies. With so many customers and a need to maintain a high standard of the services rendered, the role of information technologies in business becomes critical.
According to Alexander Bogatyrev, ROSNO Deputy Director General, «ROSNO priority is to provide customers with on-line quality servicing due to, among other things, the innovative business models. Delegation of non-core functions to the IBS outsourcing center has enabled our focusing on core business and enhancing services we offer to our beneficiaries».
IBS was chosen to implement the project on the basis of results of the closed tender held by ROSNO in February 2004. «The outsourcing model implies a long-term cooperation, Alexander Bogatyrev emphasized. So, when choosing an IT partner we primarily followed such criteria as reliability of an IT services supplier, experience in similar projects and customers’ positive response. IBS met all these requirements, and its significant advantage was the price-quality ratio».
During the fist stage, from March to May 2004, IBS and ROSNO performed preparatory operations for IT outsourcing: they developed regulations on the project cooperation, appointed responsible persons, elaborated the executor’s report system, prepared patterns for quarterly evaluation of the Customer’s satisfaction, developed and approved over 40 contract specifications and signed the contract. Strict criteria have been registered in the specifications to control quality of the IT functions.
At the following stage, all ROSNO IT systems, except for development and support of specialized insurance software, were outsourced. Over 20 employees who had performed ROSNO IT department functions, joined IBS personnel. Thus, ROSNO has continued to use services of IT specialists proficient in corporate IT system peculiarities, and, on the other hand, disengaged itself from IT services management, training and development of IT personnel, and has obtained the opportunity to engage additional expert reviews.
Currently, IBS services for ROSNO cover the following areas:
- Almost all IT functions
- System administration of applied information systems
- Acquisition of a part of designed software to the responsibility area
One of the IBS achievements was arrangement of the duty shift that ensures twenty-four-hour uninterrupted operation of ROSNO information systems and call center.
«Outsourcing of supporting functions is, first of all, the release of managerial resource of the company’s administration and personnel, — says Yury Samoylov, Head of the IBS DATA FORT outsourcing center. — If the company focuses on the core business, it gets better results, for all its resources are directed towards accomplishment of business objectives. Exactly this effect is the main objective of this project, and we have all the required resources and capabilities to enable its accomplishment».
Cooperation with the IBS outsourcing center has allowed ROSNO to:
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of the IT infrastructure and continuous high-quality and timely rendering of services to customers
- Reduce IT investment risks and risks related to dependence of IT operational processes on individual employees
- Continue enhancement of business transparency and openness due to the application of modern managerial technologies
The companies hope for further development of relations. Now IBS renders services to the ROSNO affiliated company Alians ROSNO Zhizn.
