IBS company and the global telecommunication group Cable&Wireless announced the launching of a joint DATA FORT project within the scope of which comprehensive ASP services are provided to Russian and foreign-based companies.
DATA FORT is the Russia’s first high-end application and infrastructure service provider aimed at large-scale business solutions. The launching of the project for commercial use was announced after three months of pilot testing.
According to deputy director general Sergey Merkulov, “We are confident of the success of the project and of the dynamic growth of the Russian ASP market, since companies increasingly realize the necessity of IT solutions for the optimization of their businesses, and the solutions they want most of all are comprehensive and multifunctional ones. The high cost of the solutions and of their deployment and support calls for reaching a compromise between the costs involved, and it is the leasing of the applications that makes it possible.”
The services of the project are aimed at medium-sized and large companies across all sectors of economy. According to Michael Brusentsev, IBS deputy director general and head of the DATA FORT project, “DATA FORT services are attractive from the point of view of improving the quality and reducing the cost of IT solutions. We consider the prospects of the DATA FORT project together with all other IBS’s solutions and believe that our services will be highly valued by customers who are focused on developing their businesses through implementing the latest information technologies, and who strive to use Internet solutions and to expand their scope of activities by relocating part of their businesses to the online environment.”
Today in the Demo Room page the visitor can already order and get access to online versions of applications. Among the vendors of applications and off-shelf solutions leased out by DATA FORT one will find such universally known software vendors as Microsoft, Navision, ISC, i2 and others. It is planned to expand DATA FORT’s product portfolio in the immediate future and to actively promote the services in the Russian market. During the following two months every one of the first clients will get considerable discounts for the lease of applications and infrastructure.
The launching of the DATA FORT project logically results from IBS's strategy aimed at expanding its product portfolio, improving the quality and reducing the prices of services, and at entering into new markets and strengthening their position in traditional segments.
