Matisse has transfered its trade platform to DATA FORT.

DATA FORT and the Center of Tourism Technologies "Matisse" have completed transferal of the www.matisse.ru system to data-center DATA FORT.

Matisse.ru is a digital trading platform which offers facilities for dealing in block of seats on charter flights. The system enables the sellers to provide information on flights, offer seats for sale and adjust ticket prices, keep record of sales and receive detailed reports. Customers, on the other hand, obtain trustworthy and up-to-date information and have the ability to book the tickets on-line in real-time environment.

Every subscriber of the system can act simultaneously as buyer and seller. Since January 2002 the Matisse.ru system attracted more than 300 companies from 40 cities of Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine, Estonia and Spain. Currently the system features flights on 40 destinations.

DATA FORT hosts Unix-based web site www.matisse.ru with remote access to Oracle9i Database, provides antiviral protection, round-the-clock web-system monitoring, daily backups. As a part of the project DATA FORT consulted Matisse on system migration to a new platform.

According to Matisse General Director Mikhail Shalaev, "The process of choosing the technology provider was rather time-consuming and serious due to specific requirements to the operation mode. The architecture of matisse.ru has a complex set of features and requires integration with a number of front- and back-office applications. When transferring the system to the Internet, it is necessary to observe many parameters which ensure and guarantee operation capability of the whole Center. DATA FORT is the provider which was able to offer us an ideal solution keeping within acceptable price range, quality guarantees for services provided and observation of necessary parameters tailored to our system."

An important factor that influenced the decision in favor of DATA FORT was opportunity to lease Oracle DBMS on attractive terms. The contract between Matisse and DATA FORT was concluded in the framework of the active marketing program announced by Oracle and DATA FORT this February. The main objective of the program is to offer to the companies with modest IT budgets an affordable solution on acquiring and supporting Oracle software, thus ensuring predictability of money flows and legality of operation. By the end of the first six months 8 large commercial products have made use of the promotion.
